The 10M Shorts views calendar for 2027

Checked against YouTube Help and the YouTube Blog on . Unofficial; YouTube decides what counts.

YouTube checks the 10M line once a month, on a fixed day, over a fixed 90-day window. Knowing those windows tells you which weeks of views decide which month's Shorts pay. Here is the whole of 2027, worked out from YouTube's wording.

The rule behind the dates

Starting 1 February 2027, a channel needs at least 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days to earn a share of Shorts ad revenue from the Creator Pool and YouTube Premium revenue for each month.[YouTube Help: YouTube Shorts monetization policies]

Views are measured over the 90-day period ending on the 15th day of the calendar month before the month whose earnings are being calculated.[YouTube Help: YouTube Shorts monetization policies]

Every measurement date and window

Our math / readingOur reading of that wording, counting the 15th as the last day of the window. YouTube doesn't say whether the 15th itself is included, so treat the edges as estimates.

The first window is already running

Our math / readingBy the same reading, the window that decides February 2027, the first month under the rule, runs from 18 October 2026 to 15 January 2027. Views from those days already count toward it.

Our math / readingWindows overlap. 16 December 2026 to 15 January 2027 sits inside the February, March and April 2027 windows, so a strong month can help up to three pay months, and a slow one can hurt up to three.

Our math / readingBecause the window is 90 days and February is short, the start dates drift: 18 October, 18 November, 16 December, 16 January, 15 February. That's calendar arithmetic, not a YouTube rule.

If you miss a month

Missing the threshold doesn't remove you from the YouTube Partner Program and doesn't affect your other YPP earnings, including long-form videos.[YouTube Help: Changes to the YouTube Partner Program]

Shorts revenue sharing resumes automatically once a channel crosses 10 million views again.[YouTube Blog, 10 Aug 2026: New opportunities to earn and changes to the YouTube Partner Program]

FAQ

When does YouTube measure the 10M Shorts views rule?

Once a month, over the 90 days ending on the 15th of the month before the month being paid. February 2027 earnings are measured on 15 January 2027.

Which days count for February 2027 Shorts earnings?

By our reading of YouTube's wording, 18 October 2026 to 15 January 2027: the 90 days ending on 15 January, counting the 15th.

What if I'm under 10M on one measurement date?

You don't earn from the Creator Pool for that month, but you stay in YPP and keep other earnings such as long-form. Shorts revenue sharing resumes automatically once you're back above 10M.
