Accept the updated YPP terms by 31 January 2027
Checked against YouTube Help and the YouTube Blog on . Unofficial; YouTube decides what counts.
The 2027 YouTube Partner Program changes come with new contract modules. If you don't accept them in YouTube Studio in time, you stop earning from the features they cover. Here is what to accept, how, and what happens if you miss it.
The deadline
To keep fully monetizing, review and accept the updated terms in YouTube Studio by 31 January 2027.[YouTube Help: Changes to the YouTube Partner Program]
If you haven't accepted by then, you stop earning from the associated monetization features from 1 February 2027. Accepting later restores access, and your decision doesn't change your channel's status in YPP.[YouTube Help: Changes to the YouTube Partner Program]
Which modules to accept
You can accept some or all of the updated modules; YouTube encourages accepting all of them. They include the Watch Page Monetization Module, the Shorts Monetization Module and, where applicable, the Commerce Product Module.[YouTube Help: Changes to the YouTube Partner Program]
Creators who enabled fan funding (like channel memberships or Super Chat) before 2023 may still be on the older Commerce Product Addendum and need to accept the Commerce Product Module by 31 January 2027. YouTube says eligibility, how the products work and revenue share don't change.[YouTube Help: Changes to the YouTube Partner Program]
How to accept, step by step
Sign into YouTube Studio on desktop or mobile, find the terms notification on the dashboard or in the Earn tab, select Review for each updated module, tick the box to accept and select Next, then select Submit once you've reviewed all of them.[YouTube Help: Changes to the YouTube Partner Program]
Channels in a Multi-Channel Network
For Owned-and-Operated channels, the managing MCN has to accept the updated terms by 31 January 2027. Affiliate channels accept the terms themselves in YouTube Studio by the same date; if they miss it, they can regain access any time by accepting later.[YouTube Help: Changes to the YouTube Partner Program]
Then check the 10M Shorts line
Accepting the Shorts Monetization Module keeps you eligible, but from 1 February 2027 Creator Pool earnings also need 10M qualified Shorts views over the last 90 days.[YouTube Help: Changes to the YouTube Partner Program]
Drop your YouTube Studio CSV into ShortsGate to see your rolling 90-day total and the views per day you'd need.
Check your own channel in a minute
Drop your YouTube Studio export into ShortsGate. It runs in your browser; your file is never uploaded.
